Reduced order observer based identification of base isolated buildings

摘要 Theobjectiveofthisstudyistoidentifysystemparametersfromtherecordedresponseofbaseisolatedbuildings,suchasUSChospitalbuilding,duringthe1994Northridgeearthquake.Fullstatemeasurementsarenotavailableforidentification.Additionally,theresponseisnonlinearduetotheyieldingofthelead-rubberbearings.Twonewapproachesarepresentedinthispapertosolvetheaforementionedproblems.First,areducedorderobserverisusedtoestimatetheunmeasuredstates.Second,aleastsquarestechniquewithtimesegmentsisdevelopedtoidentifythepiece-wiselinearsystemproperties.Theobserverisusedtoestimatetheinitialconditionsneededforthetimesegmentedidentification.Aseriesofequivalentlinearsystemparametersareidentifiedindifferenttimesegments.Itisshownthatthechangeinsystemparameters,suchasfrequenciesanddampingratios,duetononlinearbehaviorofthelead-rubberbearings,arereliablyestimatedusingthepresentedtechnique.Itisshownthattheresponsewasreducedduetoyieldingofthelead-rubberbearingsandperiodlengthening.
