摘要
Inthispaperweinvestigatedhowtherunningspeedwouldaffectthedynamicsofbodypitching,andwhetherbodyinertiaisimportantforanimals.Passivetrottingofspring-massmodelandpassiveboundingofspring-beammodelwerestudiedatdifferentspeedsfordifferentsetsofbodyparametersrespectively.Furthermore,differentbodyinertiaswereusedinbounding.Wefoundthatrunningspeedexertseffectonlegperformancebymeansofcentrifugalforce.Thecentrifugalforcecanbeunderstoodasanenhancementtothenaturalfrequencyofthespring-masssystem.Thedisadvantageofbodypitchingmaybeoffsetbythegreatincreaseincentrifugalforceathighspeed.Theresultsalsorevealthatbodymassdistributionmightnotbethemainreasonforthedifferenceinmaximalrunningspeedsofdifferentanimals.
