Makingfulluseofwindpowerisoneofthemainpurposesofthewindturbinegeneratorcontrol.Conventionalhillclimbingsearch(HCS)methodcanrealizethemaximumpowerpointtracking(MPPT).However,thestepsizeofHCSmethodisconstantsothatitcannotconsiderbothsteady-stateresponseanddynamicresponse.Afuzzylogicalcontrol(FLC)algorithmisproposedtosolvethisprobleminthispaper,whichcantrackthemaximumpowerpoint(MPP)quicklyandsmoothly.ToevaluateMPPTalgorithms,fourperformanceindicesarealsoproposedinthispaper.Theyaretheenergycapturedbywindturbine,themaximumpower-pointtrackingtimewhenwindspeedchangesslowly,thefluctuationmagnitudeofrealpowerduringsteadystate,andtheenergycapturedbywindturbinewhenwindspeedchangesfast.ThreecasesaredesignedandsimulatedinMATLAB/Simulinkrespectively.ThecomparisonofthethreeMPPTstrategiesconcludesthattheproposedfuzzylogicalcontrolalgorithmismoresuperiortotheconventionalHCSalgorithms.
