摘要
Inthepresentstudy,computationalfluiddynamics(CFD)isusedtoinvestigateinspiratoryandexpiratoryairflowcharacteristicsinthehumanupperrespiratorytractforthepurposeofidentifyingtheprobablelocationsofparticledepositionandthewallinjury.Computedtomography(CT)scandatawasusedtoreconstructathreedimensionalrespiratorytractfromtracheatofirstgenerationbronchi.Tocompare,asimplifiedmodelofrespiratorytractbasedonWeibelwasalsousedinthestudy.Thesteadystateresultsareobtainedforanairflowrateof45L/min,correspondingtotheheavybreathingcondition.Thevelocitydistribution,wallshearstress,staticpressureandparticledepositionarecomparedforinspiratoryflowsinsimplifiedandrealisticmodelsandexpiratoryflowsinrealisticmodelonly.Theresultsshowthatthelocationofcartilaginousringsissusceptibletowallinjuryandlocalparticledeposition.
