Phase control of light amplification in steady and transient processes in an inverted-Y atomic system with spontaneously generated coherence

摘要 Weinvestigatetheeffectsofspontaneouslygeneratedcoherence(SGC)onboththesteadyandtransientgainpropertiesinafour-levelinverted-Y-typeatomicsysteminthepresenceofaweakprobe,twostrongcoherentfields,andanincoherentpump.Forthesteadyprocess,wefindthattheinversionlessgainmainlyoriginsfromSGC.Inparticular,wecanmodulatetheinversionlessgainbychangingtherelativephasebetweenthetwofields.Moreover,theamplitudeofthegainpeakcanbeenhancedandtheadditionalgainpeakcanappearbychangingthedetuningofthecouplingfield.Asforthetransientprocess,thetransientgainpropertiescanalsobedramaticallyaffectedbytheSGC.ComparedtothecasewithoutSGC,thetransientgaincanbegreatlyenhancedwithcompletelyeliminatedtransientabsorptionbychoosingtheproperrelativephasebetweenthetwofields.Andtheinverted-Y-typesystemwithSGCcanbesimulatedinbothatomicandsemiconductorquantumwellsystemsavoidingtheconditionsofSGC.
