摘要
IntroductionWhylisteningisneglectedinseniormiddleschoolEnglishclassesItiswellknownthattherearefourbasiclanguageskills,noneofwhichshouldbeneglected.Unfortunately,teachersofEnglishinmiddleschoolsusuallypaylittleattentiontolisteningforanumberofreasons.OneisthattheythinklisteningislessimportantforChinesestudentscomparedwithotherskills.AccordingtotheNationalSyllabus,moreattentionshouldbepaidtoreading,whichisthechiefcomponentoftheCollegeEntranceexam.Anotherreasonisthatteacherscomplainthattheydonothaveenoughmaterialsormachinesforimprovinglistening.Furthermore,theylackconfidenceintheirabilitytoconstructlisteningactivities.
