摘要
TheTangShanResearchInstituteofGroupTechnologyhasbeenengagedinthedevelop-mentofGTforthelightindustrymachinerybuildingfactoriessince1980.Underitsoverallsupervisionmorethan8factorieshaveappliedGTtodrawingcontrolandprocessplanning,while4ofthemreorga-nizedtheirmachineshopsintoGTcellsandthethroughputcapabilitieswereraisdimmediatelyby15toeven49%.SincetheexistingGTcodingsystemspredictonlytheglobalcharacteristicsofmachineparts,theirapplicationaloneisunabletotransferalltheinformationneededfortheCAD/CAMintegrationinaCIMenvironment.Fromtheverybeginningof1989,westartedtostudythefeasibilityofintroducingconceptsofFunctionalFormFeaturesintoGTcodes.Basedontheexhaustivestudyofnearly100,000partdrawingsfrommachineriesformakingpotteryandporcelainappliances,cigarette,paperpulp,glassbottles,plasticsmoulding,beerandbeveragefillingetc.,anewGT/FFFcodingsystemwasworkedoutandacorrespondingsetofstandarddrawingsassembledfromFFFprimitivesWasformulat-edwhichcancoverupto65—75%ofexistingpartsfromlightindustrymachineries.FFFbasedGTcodesgreatlyfacilitatethestandardizationcontrolofreleaseddrawings,acceleratetheengineeringde-signandprocessplanning,andcertainlywillplayanimportantroleinthefutureCIMorganization.
