摘要
Theobjectiveofthispaperistocomparetheperformancesoftheturbines,whichcouldbeusedforwaveenergyconversioninthenearfuture,undervariousirregularwaveconditions.Theturbinesincludedinthepaperareasfollows:(1)Wellsturbinewithguidevanes;(b)impulseturbinewithself-pitch-controlledguidevanes;(c)impulseturbinewithfixedguidevanes.Inthisstudy,experimentalinvestigationswerecarriedouttoclarifytheperformancesoftheturbinesundersteadyflowconditions,andthenanumericalsimulationwasusedforpredictingtheperformancesunderirregularwaveconditionswithvarioussignificantwaveheights.Asaresult,itwasfoundthattherunningandstartingcharacteristicsoftheimpulseturbinescouldbesuperiortothoseoftheWellsturbine.
