摘要
WepresentpreliminaryresultsofanewglobalMagnetohydrodynamics(MHD)simulationmodeloftheJovianmagnetosphere.ThemodelincorporatesmassloadingfromJupiter'ssatelliteIo,theplanet'sfastcorotation,andelectrostaticcouplingbetweenitsmagnetosphereandionosphere(M-Icoupling).ThebasicconfigurationoftheJovianmagnetosphereincludingtheequatorialplasmaflowpattern,thecorotationenforcementcurrentsystem,andthefieldalignedcurrents(FACs)intheionospherearepresentedunderanantiparallelinterplanetarymagneticfield(IMF)condition.Thesimulationmodelresultsforequatorialdensityandpressureprofilesareconsistentwithresultsfromdata-basedempiricalmodels.ItisalsofoundthattherearesimilaritiesbetweentheFACsdistributionintheionosphereandtheobservedaurorafeatures,showingthepotentialapplicationofthesimpleionosphericmodeltothecomplicatedM-Icoupling.ThismodelwillhelpdeepenourunderstandingoftheglobaldynamicsoftheJovianmagnetosphere.
