摘要
Polarizationmanipulationisasignificantissueforartificialmodulationoftheelectromagnetic(EM)wave,butgeneralmechanismsallsuffertherestrictionofinherentsymmetricpropertiesbetweenoppositehandedness.Herein,astrategytoindependentlyandarbitrarilymanipulatetheEMwavewithorthogonalcircularpolarizationsbasedonametasurfaceisproposed,whicheffectuallybreaksthroughtraditionalsymmetricalcharacteristicsbetweenorthogonalhandedness.Bysynthesizingthepropagationphaseandgeometricphase,theappropriateJonesmatrixiscalculatedtoobtainindependentwavefrontmanipulationofEMwaveswithoppositecircularpolarizations.Twotransmissiveultra-thinmeta-deflectorsareproposedtodemonstratetheasymmetricalrefractionoftransmittedcircularlypolarizedwavesinthemicrowaveregion.Simulatedtransmittedphasefrontandmeasuredfar-fieldintensitydistributionsareinexcellentagreement,indicatingthatthetransmittedwavewithdifferentpolarizationscanberefractedintoarbitraryandindependentdirectionswithinawidefrequencyband(relativebandwidthof25%).TheresultspresentedinthispaperprovidemorefreedomforthemanipulationofEMwaves,andmotivatetherealizationsofvariouspolarization-independentpropertiesforallfrequencyspectra.
