摘要
Objective:Toreportdetectionofvestibular-evokedmyogenicpotentials(VEMPs)intheminiaturepig.Methods:Potentialsevokedby1000HztoneburstswererecordedfromneckextensormusclesandthemassetermusclesinnormaladultBamaminiaturepigsanesthetizedwith3%pentobarbitalsodiumandCarbacholII.Results:ThelatencyofthefirstpositivewavePfromneckextensormuscleswas7.65±0.64ms,withanamplitudeof1.66±0.34uvandarateofsuccessfulinductionof75%at80dBSPL.Thelatencyofpotentialsevokedfromthemassetermuscleswas7.60±0.78ms,withanamplitudeof1.31±0.28uvandaratesuccessfulinductionof66%at80dBSPL.Conclusion:ThelatenciesandthresholdsofVEMPsrecordedfromtheneckextensormuscleandthemassetermuscleappeartobecomparableinnormaladultBamaminiaturepigs,althoughtheamplituderecordedfromtheneckextensormuscleseemstobehigherthanthatfromthemassetermuscle.However,becauseoftheirusuallyrelativelysuperficialandeasilyaccessiblelocation,aswellastheirlargevolumeandstrongcontractions,massetermusclesmaybebettertargetmusclesforrecordingmyogenicpotentials.
