Focal Fault and Stress Field of the Yao‘ an M 6.5 Earthquake on January15,2001-中国期刊网

摘要 Usingthe78focalmechanismsolutionsoftheforeshocks,mainshockandaftershocksoftheearthquakesequencefortheYao'anearthquake,thecharacteristicsofthefocalfaultsandstressfieldfortheearthquakesequenceareanalyzed.TheresultsshowthatthemainruptureplaneoftheYao'anearthquakesequenceisatectonicfaultwithN50°Wstrikeandsteepdipandallthemainshock,theforeshocksandthevastmajorityofaftershocksoccurredonthemainruptureplane.AtectonicfracturewithNNE-NEstrikealsoparticipatedindevelopmentprocessofthesequencedominatedbyprincipalcompressionalstresswithnearlyhorizontalorientationSSEisconsistentwiththeregionaltectonicstressfield.Inthesequencedevelopment,thestressfieldinthefocalregionwascomplexwithmultiaximuthsandmulti-actionmodelsandthefocalruptureshowedcomplexfeatureswithmulti-directionsandmulti-patterns.
