摘要
TheBrazilianshieldwasassembledfromafewArcheanandPaleoproterozoiccratonicnucleisurroundedbyPan-African-BrasilianomobilebeltsofNeoproterozoicage.Whilesomeofthesemobilebeltsdisplayatypicalfrontalcollisiontectonicstyle,othersaredominatedbytranscurrentregimes,clearlyindicatingobliquecollisionalsystems.Thispaperisanattempttodeterminethemeanorientationoftheprincipalhorizontalcompressivestressesforeachmobilebelt,consideringeitherthefrontalorobliqueconvergencecharacter.FromthesegeneralobservationsaschemewithWNW-ESEtoNWSEtrendsofthemaincompressivestressisproposed.Wesuggestthatthistrendrepresentsthemeandisplacementvectors,accordingtoacoherentkinematicpicturefortheamalgamationoftheWestGondwanaduringthefinalstagesofconvergenceoftheBrasilianobelts,whereWNW-ESEtoNW-SEarethemaindirectionsoffinalclosure.
