DinggyeliesinthemiddlepartoftheHimalayanOrogen.AlotoflowangleextensiondetachmentfaultshavebeendevelopedinDinggyeareaandsomeofthemmakeupthemainbodyoftheSouthTibetDetachmentSystem.Onthewhole,theextensiondirectionofallthedetachmentfaultsisperpendiculartothestrikeoftheHimalayanOrogen.Eachdetachmentfaulthasitsdistinctcharacteristics.Mylonitewasextensivelydevelopedinthedetachmentfaultsandcanbedividedintoavarietyoftypessuchassiliceousmylonite,felsicmylonite,granitemylonite,protomylonite,crystallizationmyloniteandsoon.Onthebasisofourfieldsurveyworks,thesedetachmentfaultscanbeclassifiedaccordingtotheirlocationsintothreeunitslistedasfollows:(1)Inthenorthernpartofthestudyarea,thedetachmentfaultsoccuronlargescaleandinorbicularshape,andformthemiddlelayerofthemetamorphiccorecomplexes.(2)Inthesouthernpartofthestudyarea,thedetachmentfaultsoccurinlinearshapethatisparalleltotheHimalayanOrogenandhasastableattitude,andhaveundergonetwophasesofdevelopment.Inthefirstphase,theRouqiechunGrouprockswereformedandmakeupthehangingwall,whileinthesecondphasetheJiachunGrouprockswereformedandmakeupthehangingwall.(3)Inthesoutheastempartofthestudyarea,thedetachmentfaultsstrikenearlyalongsoutheastdirectioninastablewayandsomeofthesedetachmentfaultsweredistortedbythelate-formedfaultsandfolds.Furthermore,inthesouthwesternpartofthestudyarea,theductileshearzonesareparalleltothedetachmentfaults.
