THE IMPACTS OF MADDEN–JULIAN OSCILLATION ON SPRING RAINFALL IN EAST CHINA

摘要 PhasecompositeanalysesareconductedtoinvestigatethepossibleeffectoftheMadden–Julianoscillation(MJO)onthespringrainfallanomaliesinEastChinabyusingtheReal-timeMultivariateMJO(RMM)indexfromAustralianMeteorologicalBureau.Theresultsshowthattherainfallanomaliesoverthemid-andlower-valleyofYangtzeRiverarepositivewhentheMJOshiftseastwardtothemid-andeastern-IndianOcean,andanomalousprecipitationoverSouthChinaarepositivewhentheMJOmovesfurthereastwardtothemaritimecontinent,whereasspringrainfallanomaliesoverEastChinaarenegativeintheotherMJOepisodes.TheMJOimpactsontheprecipitationoverEastChinaresultfromthechangesinlarge-scaleatmosphericcirculationaswellasvorticityandwatervaportransportationinthemid-andlower-troposphere.
