摘要
Sustainabledevelopment,aconceptwhichhasbeenbuiltwiththesustainabilityofeconomicprogressionasamainthrust,hasbeenawidelypreferredmodeltotraditionaldevelopmentalmodels.However,therealmeaningofwhatsustainabledevelopmentisandshouldincludehasbeenanobjectofdebate.Ontheonehand,differingfromtraditionaleconomicdevelopmentalmodels,economicprogressdoesnotnecessitatethepracticeof‘sustainabledevelopment'.Ontheotherhand,currentlevelsofscienceandtechnologyarestillunabletosolveseveralproblemsthatarisewitheconomicdevelopment.Sustainabledevelopmenthastransferredtheresponsibilityofenvironmentaldestructiontothatofdevelopingcountries.Lastly,insteadofutilizingthebesttechnologyandleadershipintoformulatingexcellentenvironmental-protectionpolicies,itismoreimportanttocreatewidespreadawarenesstothepublicontheneedtoprotecttheenvironmentandtherebyengagetheirparticipationindecision-makingtoactuallyrealizewhatistruly‘sustainabledevelopment'.
