Inthiswork,westudythecoupledcross-flowandin-linevortex-inducedvibration(VIV)ofafixedlymountedflexiblepipe,whichisfreetomoveincross-flow(Y-)andin-line(X-)directioninafluidflowwherethemassandnaturalfrequenciesarepreciselythesameinbothX-andY-direction.Thefluidspeedvariesfromlowtohighwiththecorrespondingvortexsheddingfrequencyvaryingfrombelowthefirstnaturalfrequencytoabovethesecondnaturalfrequencyoftheflexiblepipe.Particularemphasiswasplacedontheinvestigationoftherelationshipbetweenin-lineandcross-flowvibration.Theexperimentalresultsanalyzedbyusingthesemeasurementsexhibitsseveralvaluablefeatures.
