简介：ChinaandtheUnitedStateshavecooperatedcloselyinresolvingthesecondNorthKoreannuclearcrisis.ChinaandtheUnitedStateshaveworkedtogetherwithSouthKorea,RussiaandJapantopreventtheNorthKoreannuclearissuefromspiralingoutofcontrol,andtheyhavealsotriedtomakeprogressinthesix-partytalks.Despitedifferencesovertheissue,bothsidesaremaintainingthemomentumofcooperationwithincreasingmutualunderstandingandtrust.ThecurrentU.S.-NorthKorearapprochementhasprogressedquickly,addinganewfactorinSino-U.S.cooperation.ApartfrombilateralcontactwithNorthKorea,theUnitedStatesisinsistingonamultilateralapproach,continuingtopersuadeChinatoshareresponsibilityforanuclear-freePeninsula,andjointlyadvancingtheprocessinthesecondphasesetforthintheFebruary13AgreementonInitialActions.China'srole,therefore,remainsindispensable.
