简介:ThePangolin,asoil-burrowinganimal,iscoveredwithscales.Thesescalesareoftenabradedbysoilandrockandtheirsurfaceiscorrugated.Theabrasivewearofthesurfaceofthescaleswasexamined.Thescalesweretakenfromapangolinthathaddiedofnaturalcauses.Thetestswererunonarotarydiscabrasiveweartester.Theabrasivematerialwasquartzsand(96.5wt.%)andbentonite(3.5wt.%).Themorphologyoftheabradedsurfacesandtheabrasionwereexaminedbystereoscopicmicroscopyandscanningelectronmicroscopy.Theconceptsareproposedof'Guiding-Effect'and'Rolling-Effect'onthetexturedsurfacesunderfreeabrasivewearconditionsandthecriticaldimensionsofthe'Rolling-Effect'arediscussed.
简介:Twouncoupleabledistributions,assigningmissionstorobotsandallocatingrobotstohomestations,accompanytheuseofmobileservicerobotsinhospitals.Inthegivenproblem,twoworkload-relatedobjectivesandfivegroupsofconstraintsareproposed.Abio-mimickedBinaryBeesAlgorithm(BBA)isintroducedtosolvethismultiobjectivemulticonstraintcombinatorialoptimisationproblem,inwhichconstrainthandlingtechnique(MultiobjectiveTransformation,MOT),multiobjectiveevaluationmethod(nondominanceselection),globalsearchstrategy(stochasticsearchinthevariablespace),localsearchstrategy(Hammingneighbourhoodexploitation),andpost-processingmeans(feasibilityselection)arethemainissues.TheBBAisthendemonstratedwithacasestudy,presentingtheexecutionprocessofthealgorithm,andalsoexplainingthechangeofelitenumberinevolutionaryprocess.Itsoptimisationresultprovidesagroupoffeasiblenondominatedtwo-leveldistributionschemes.
简介:Inthe'modifiedquasi-steady'approach,two-dimensional(2D)aerodynamicmodelsofflappingwingmotionsareana-lyzedwithfocusondifferenttypesofwingrotationanddifferentpositionsofrotationaxistoexplaintheforcepeakattheendofeachhalfstroke.Inthismodel,anadditionalvelocityofthemidchordpositionduetorotationissuperimposedonthetransla-tionalrelativevelocityofairwithrespecttothewing.Thismodificationproducesaugmentedforcesaroundtheendofeachstroke.Foreachcaseoftheflappingwingmotionswithvariouscombinationofcontrolledtranslationalandrotationalvelocitiesofthewingalonginclinedstrokeplaneswiththinfigure-of-eighttrajectory,discussionsfocusonlift-dragevolutionduringonestrokecycleandefficiencyoftypesofwingrotation.This'modifiedquasi-steady'approachprovidesasystematicanalysisofvariousparametersandtheireffectsonefficiencyofflappingwingmechanism.Flappingmechanismwithdelayedrotationaroundquarter-chordaxisisanefficientoneandcanbemadesimplebyapassiverotationmechanismsothatitcanbeusefulforroboticapplication.
简介:Inthepost-genomicbiologyera,thereconstructionofgeneregulatorynetworksfrommicroarraygeneexpressiondataisveryimportanttounderstandtheunderlyingbiologicalsystem,andithasbeenachallengingtaskinbioinformatics.TheBayesiannetworkmodelhasbeenusedinreconstructingthegeneregulatorynetworkforitsadvantages,buthowtodeterminethenetworkstructureandparametersisstillimportanttobeexplored.Thispaperproposesatwo-stagestructurelearningalgorithmwhichintegratesimmuneevolutionalgorithmtobuildaBayesiannetwork.Thenewalgorithmisevaluatedwiththeuseofbothsimulatedandyeastcellcycledata.Theexperimentalresultsindicatethattheproposedalgorithmcanfindmanyoftheknownrealregulatoryrelationshipsfromliteratureandpredicttheothersunknownwithhighvalidityandaccuracy.
