  • 简介:-Thevariationoftheamplitudeofwaveswithvaryingincidentangleswhenwavespropagatethroughatypicalapproachchannelisdiscussedbyanumericalcalculationmethod,theresultofwhichshowsthattheinfluenceofthechannelonwavepropagationisobvious.Whenthewavepropagationdirectionisincoincidencewiththechannelaxis,thewaveamplituderatiowilldecreasewiththeincreaseofpropagationdistance.Whentheincidentangleis15-30,thereappearsanareaoflargerwaveamplituderatioonthesideslopefacingthewaves,butattheanotherside,thewaveamplituderatioisgenerallysmall,indicatingthatthechannelhasashieldingeffect.Whenwavespropagateacrossthechannelperpendicularly,thewaveamplituderatiocanbecalculatedwiththeshallowwatercoefficient.

  • 简介:Themodifiedhybridelementmethod(MHEM)isutilizedtopredictandanalyzewaveforcesonarbitrarilyshapedmultiplebodies.Thismethodcanbeappliedtowavesofallwaterdepths,i.e.shallow,intermediate,anddeepwaters,onslowlyvaryingseabed.TheMHEMemploystheICCGmethodtosaveCPUandstorage,thusthecomputationofwaveforcesforlargemulti-bodysystemscanbecarriedoutonmicrocomputers.Numericalresultsofthepresentmethodarecomparedwithexperimentaldataandothersolutions.ItisshownthattheMHEMprovidesmoreaccuratesolutionsofthewaveforcesthanothernumericalmethodsdo.Therefore,themethodologypresentedhereincanbeusedinthedesignofcoastalandoceanstructures.

  • 简介:Inthispaper,thecharacteristicsofdifferentformsofmildslopeequationsfornon-linearwaveareanalyzed,andnewnon-lineartheoreticmodelsforwavepropagationarepresented,withnon-lineartermsaddedtothemildslopeequationsfornon-stationarylinearwavesanddissipativeeffectsconsidered.Numericalsimulationmodelsaredevelopedofnon-linearwavepropagationforwatersofmildlyvaryingtopographywithcomplicatedboundary,andtheeffectsarestudiedofdifferentnon-linearcorrectionsoncalculationresultsofextendedmildslopeequations.Systematicalnumericalsimulationtestsshowthatthepresentmodelscaneffectivelyreflectnon-lineareffects.

  • 简介:ManyobservationsshowthatintheYellowSeainternaltidalwaves(ITWs)possesstheremarkablecharacteristicsofinternalKelvinwave,andintheSouthYellowSea(SYS)thenonlinearevolutionofinternaltidalwavesisoneofthemechanismsproducinginternalsolitarywaves(ISWs),whichisdifferentfromthegenerationmechanisminthecasewherethesemidiurnaltidalcurrentflowsovertopographicdrops.Inthispaper,themodelofinternalKelvinwavewithcontinuousstratificationisgiven,andanelementarynumericalstudyofnonlinearevolutionofITWsismadefortheSYS,usingthegeneralizedKdVmodel(GKdVmodelforshort)foracontinuousstratifiedocean,inwhichthedifferenteffectsofbackgroundbarotropicebbandfloodcurrentsareconsidered.Moreover,theparameterizationofverticalturbulentmixingcausedbyITWsandISWsintheSYSisstudied,usingaparameterizationschemewhichwasappliedtonumericalexperimentsonthebreakingofISWsbyVlasenkoandHutterin2002.Itisfoundthattheverticalturbulentmixingcausedbyinternalwavesisverystrongwithintheupperlayerwithdepthlessthanabout30m,andtheverticalturbulentmixingcausedbyISWsisstrongerthanthatbyITWs.
