简介:ThereisalownutrientlevelintheAoshanBay.InJune1999,thechemicaladjustmentandcontrolexperimentwasmadeintheAoshanBay.Followingtractsinvestigationwascarriedoutbeforetheexperimentandonthe1st,2nd,4th,5th,6thand45thday/aftertheexperiment.Whilethevarianceofamountofphytoplankton,thereplacementofsuperiorspeciesandthespeciescompositionofphytoplanktonwereresearched.TheresultsshowthattheamountofphytoplanktonintheAoshanBayrisesgraduallyaftertheexperiment.CeratiummacrocerosCleveofpyrophytawasthedominantspeciesbeforetheexperiment,itsdominantindexwas37.7%.Sixdaysaftertheexperiment,itsdominantindexdroppedto17.6%.MeanwhilethedominantindexofAsterionellajaponicsCleverosefrom7.1%to39.2%,itbecamethefirstdominantspecies.Forty-fivedaysaftertheexperiment,theamountofphytoplanktonintheAoshanBaywas5.15to137.32timesmorethanthatin1997.

简介:ThemaingoaloftheHyperCP(E87)experimentatFermilabistosearchforCPviolationinΞandΑdecaysatthe-10^-4level.Thislevelofprecisiondictatesadatasampleofoverabillionevents.Theexperimentcollectedabout231billionraweventsonabout30,0005-GBtapesintenmonthsofrunningin1997and1999,Inordertoanalyzethishugeamountofdata,thecollaborationhasreconstructedtheeventsonafarmof55dual-processorLinux-basedPCsatFermilab.AsetoffarmtoolshasbeenwrittenbythecollaborationtointerfacewiththeFarmBatchSystem(FBSandFBSNG)[1]developedbytheFermilabComputingDivision,toautomatemuchofthefarmingandtoallownonexpertfarmshifterstosubmitandmonitorjobsthroughaweb-basedinterface.Specialcarehasbeentakentoproducearobustsystemwhichfacilitateseasyrecoveryfromerrors.Thecodehasprovisionsforextensivemonitoringofthedataonaspill-by-spillbasis,asisrequiredbytheneedtominimizepotentialSystematicerrors.About36millionplotsofvariousparametersproducedfromthefarmanalysiscanbeaccessedthroughadatamanagementsystem.Theentiredatasetwasfarmedinelevenmouths,oraboutthesametimethatwastakentoacquirethedata.Wewilldescribethearchitectureofthefarm.ourexperienceinoperatingit,andshowsomeresultsfromthefarmanalysis.

简介:BasedontheGlobalRegionalAssimilationandPredictionSystem-TropicalCycloneModel(GRAPES-TCM),anensembleforecastexperimentwasperformed,inwhichTyphoonWiphaduringtheperiodimmediatelypriortolandfallwasselectedforthestudyandthebreedingofgrowingmode(BGM)methodwasusedtoperturbtheinitialconditionsofthevortexfieldandtheenvironmentfield.TheresultsoftheexperimentindicatethateachmemberhadadifferentinitialstatusinBGMprocessingandtheyshowareasonablespreadamongmembersalongwiththeforecastphase.Changesinthelarge-scalefield,thermodynamicstructure,andspreadamongmemberstookplacewhenWiphamadelandfall.Thesteeringeffectofthelarge-scalefieldandtheinteractionbetweenthethermodynamicsandthedynamicsresultedindifferenttracksofthemembers.Meanwhile,theforecastuncertaintyincreased.Insummary,theensemblemeandidnotperformaswellasthecontrolforecast,buttheclustermeanprovidedsomeusefulinformation,andperformedbetterthanthecontrolinsomeinstances.Thepositionerrorwas34kmfor24hforecast,153kmfor48hforecast,and191kmfor66hforecast.Thestrikeprobabilitychartqualitativelydescribedtheforecastuncertainty.
