  • 简介:Polyvinylalcoholcoatedmagneticparticles(PVAferrofluids)havebeensynthesizedbychemicalco-precipitationofFe(Ⅱ)/Fe(Ⅲ)saltsin1.5mol/LNH4OHsolutionat70℃inthepresenceofPVA.Theresultantcolloidalparticleshavecore-shellstructures,inwhichtheironoxidecrystallitesformthecoresandPVAchainsformtheshells.Thehydrodynamicdiameterofthecolloidalparticlesisintherangeof108to155nm,whichincreaseswithincreasingPVAconcentrationfrom5wt%to20wt%.Thesizeofthemagneticcoresisca.5~10nm,whichisrelativelyindependentofPVAconcentration.Undertransmissionelectronmicroscopic(TEM)examination,themagneticcoresexhibitsomewhatirregularshapesvaryingfromspherical,oval,tocubic.MagnetometrymeasurementrevealedthatthePVAcoatedmagneticparticlesaresuperparamagnetic.Thesaturationmagnetizationof5wt%and20wt%PVAferrofluidsat300Kis54and49emu/g.respectively.AllthePVAferrofluidsexhibitedexcellentcolloidalstabilityinpurewaterandphosphatebuffersaline(PBS,pH=7.4).Theferrofluidscanremainstableinabovesolutionsformorethanthreemonthsat4℃.

  • 简介:Physicalandchemicalpropertiesofthemagneticnanoparticlescoatedwitholeatehavebeeninvestigatedbymeansoftransmissionelectronmicroscopy(TEM),thermogravimetricanalysis(TGA),Mossbauerspectroscopy,superconductingquantuminterferencedevice(SQUID)magnetometry,infraredspectra(IR)andthecontactangledevice.TheresultsshowthatdopedAlionsinFe3O4nanoparticlesarelocatedontheoctahedralsitesofthespinelstructure.Oleateiscoatedonthemagneticnanoparticleswithtwolayersbychemicalabsorbing,theouterlayercanbewashedaway.Thewettingofthesurfaceofmagneticnanoparticlescoatedwithmonolayerhasbeenchangedfromhydrophilicitytohydrophobicity,andthenanoparticlescanbedispersedverywellinsomeorganicsolutions.

  • 简介:ThelifeofimpregnatedBa-Wcathodeswithanewconstructionhavebeenevaluatedusinganacceleratedlifetestatthreedifferenttemperatures(1170℃,1130℃,1090℃)andconstantcurrentdensity(2A/cm~2).Accordingtotherelationshipoflifewithoperatingtemperatures,anacceleratedequationhasbeensetup.Thecathodelifeatnormaloperatingtemperatureisdeductedbasedontheacceleratedequation.Theresultsshowthatlifeofthenovelcathodeexceeds190,000houratacurrentdensityof2A/cm~2.

  • 简介:Amodelwasdevelopedtosimulatethetemperaturedistributionandnuggetformationduringresistancespotwelding(RSW)ofzinc-coatedsteels.Itemploysacoupledthermal-electrical-mechanicalanalysissimulatingthedynamicRSWprocess.Temperature-dependentthermal-electrical-mechanicalmaterialpropertieswereconsideredincludingcontact-resistance.Thecontactareawasdeterminedfromacoupledthermal-mechanicalanalysis.Alayeroftransitionelementswasusedtorepresentthechangeofcontactareabykillingoractivatingelements.Theheatgenerationandtemperaturefieldwerecomputedinacoupledthermal-electricalmodel.Alltheseanalysesweresolvedusingthecommercialfiniteelementmethod(FEM)basedonANSYScode,andsomeadvancedfunctionswereusedbywritingaparagraphofcodesbytheauthors.Comparedwiththeresultsfromonlycoupledthermal-electricalmodelinwhichcontactareawasuniformduringthewholeprocess,theresultmatchesbettertotheexperimentalresults.

  • 简介:Thetransmissionspectrumofthecoatedphase-shiftedlong-periodfibergratings(LPFGs)withsingleandmultiplephaseshiftsisanalyzedbythecoupled-modetheoryandthetransfermatrixmethod,andtheinfluencesofthefilmparametersonthespectralcharacteristicsarealsostudied.ItisshownthattheseparameterswillaffecttheLPFGfilteringcharacteristics.Thelosspeakoftransmissionspectrumdecreaseswiththeincreaseoffilmthickness,andthepeakpositionshiftswiththefilmrefractiveindex.Comparedwiththenon-coatedphase-shiftedLPFG,thecoatedonehasthesimilardesirablefilteringcharacteristics,andithasaflexibleabilitytoadjustthetransmissionproperties.

  • 简介:Effectofstackingstructureofsingle-walledcarbonnanotubes(SWCNTs)onitsperformanceaselectrodeofsupercapacitorwasinvestigatedinthepresentwork.ConsideringSWCNTseasilyformedbundlesduetostrongvandeWaalsattractionbetweentubes,weproposedfirstdispersionofSWCNTsbyionicliquids(ILs)of1-ethyl-3-methylimidazoliumtetrafluoroborate(EMIMBF4),followedbyfabricationofbuckypaperbycompression.ThedebundlingeffectofILsonSWCNTsincreasedtheinterfacebetweenelectrodeandelectrolyte,decreasedelectricalresistance,and,consequently,increasedperformanceofthesupercapacitor.SinceILs,usedtodisperseSWCNTs,alsofunctionedaselectrolyteinsupercapacitor,ourmethodisasimplewaytopreparebuckypaperelectrodewithhighperformance.

  • 简介:Inthispaper,wederivetheanalyticalexpressionforthemultipoleexpansioncoefficientsofscatteringandinteriorfieldsofagraphene-coateddielectricparticleundertheilluminationofanarbitraryopticalbeam.Byusingthisarbitrarybeamtheory,wesystematicallyinvestigatetheopticalforcesexertedonthegraphene-coatedparticlebyafocusedGaussianbeam.Viatuningthechemicalpotentialofthegraphene,theopticalforcespectracouldbemodulatedaccordinglyatresonantexcitation.Thehybridizedwhisperinggallerymodeoftheelectromagneticfieldinsidethegraphene-coatedpolystyreneparticleismoreintensivelylocalizedthanthepurepolystyreneparticle,whichleadstoaweakenedmorphology-dependentresonanceintheopticalforces.Theseinvestigationscouldopennewperspectivesfordynamicengineeringofopticalmanipulationsinopticaltweezersapplications.
