简介:TheinverseFaradayeffectinducedinmagneticfilmsbyultrashortlaserpulsesallowsexcitationandcontrolofspinsatgigahertzandsub-terahertzfrequencies.Thefrequencyoftheopticallyexcitedmagnetizationprecessioniseasilytunablebytheexternalmagneticfield.Ontheotherhand,theinitialphaseoftheprecessionmarginallydependsonthemagneticfield.Herewedemonstrateanapproachforthecontroloftheprecessionphasebyvariationofthepumpbeamdirection.Inparticular,weconsiderthecasewhenthemagnetizationprecessionisexcitedbyobliquelyincidentpumppulsesinamagneticdielectricfilmplacedinthein-planemagneticfield.Theoreticalconsiderationpredictsthattheinitialphaseshouldappearforanon-zeroin-planecomponentofthepumpwavevectororthogonaltotheexternalmagneticfield.Experimentalstudiesconfirmthisconclusionandrevealthatthephasegrowswithincreaseofthein-planewavevectorcomponent.Variationofphaseby15degisdemonstrated.Potentially,thephasecouldbechangedevenmorepronouncedlybymorethan90deg.Thisworkprovidesasimplewayforadditionalmanipulationwithopticallyexcitedmagnetizationdynamics,whichisofimportancefordifferentspintronicapplications.
