Marineaccidentshavecausedimmensecasualtiesonvariouspartiesinshippingandshipbuildingindustries,includingfinancialandstructurallosses.Thissituationmakesshipaccidentbecomesacriticalsubjectinnavalarchitectureandmarinestructures,asitneedscontinuousassessmentandinvestigationtobroadeninsightanddataofcollisionandgroundingphenomena.Thepaperaimstoinvestigatestructuralconditionsofashiparrangedbydoublehullsystemunderaccidentalscenario,namelyshipgrounding.Fundamentalconceptofstructure-rockinteractioninpoweredhardgroundingisadoptedtodesignimpactconfigurationforcalculationusingfiniteelement(FE)simulation.Involvedentitiesaredefinedasthestructurerepresentedbytankervessel,andoceanicrockisdeployedastheindenterinanalysis.Calculationresultsindicatethatthecrashworthinesscapabilityofstructuralpartstrengthenedbylongitudinalgirderishigherthanotherselectedlocationsonthestructuresagainstrockpenetration.Localizedfloodingofstorageoilmayoccurduringrakingdamageisformedonstructuralpartbetweentwogirders.
