Inrecentyears,microstripantennashavebeenmorewidelyappliedinsatellitecommunications,mobilephones,unmannedaerialvehicle(UAV),andweapons.Amicro-electro-mechanicalsystems-based(MEMS-based)high-resistancesiliconC-bandmicrostripantennaarrayhasbeendesignedfortheintelligentammunition.Thecenterfrequencyis4.5GHz.Acavityhasbeendesignedinsubstratetoreducethedielectricconstantofsiliconandhigh-resistancesiliconhasbeenusedasthematerialofsubstratetoimprovethegainofantenna.ItisveryeasytobemanufacturedbyusingMEMStechnologybecauseoftheimprovedstructureoftheantenna.Theresultsshowthatthegainoftheantennais8dBandvoltagestandingwaveratio(VSWR)islessthan2bytheanalysisandsimulationinhighfrequencystructuresimulator(HFSS).
