Reliablecomputationalfootmodelsofferanalternativemeanstoenhanceknowledgeonthebiomechanicsofhumanfoot.Modelvalidationisoneofthemostcriticalaspectsoftheentirefootmodelingandanalysisprocess.Thispaperpresentsaninvivoexperimentcombiningmotioncapturesystemandplantarpressuremeasureplatformtovalidateathree-dimensionalfiniteelementmodelofhumanfoot.TheMagneticResonanceImaging(MRI)slicesforthefootmodelingandtheexperimentaldataforvalidationwerebothcollectedfromthesamevolunteersubject.Thevalidatedcomponentsincludedthecomparisonofstaticmodelpredictionsofplantarforce,plantarpressureandfootsurfacedeformationduringsixloadingconditions,toequivalentmeasureddata.Duringthewholeexperiment,footsurfacedeformation,plantarforceandplantarpressurewererecordedsimultaneouslyduringsixdifferentloadedstandingconditions.ThepredictionsofthecurrentFEmodelwereingoodagreementwiththeseexperimentalresults.
