Anewsilicasolbinderwasobtainedbymixingtheacid-modifiedaluminiumsulfateandwaterglass.TheeffectofSiO2concentrationinsodiumsilicate,pHvalueandpolymerizationwasinvestigated.Thenewsilicasolbinder,whichpossessedabundantporevolumeandsuitableacidamount,wasanidealcomponentforpreparingcrackingcatalyst.Asaresult,thecorrespondingcatalystcomprisingthenewbindershowedexcellentperformance.Comparedwiththereferencesample,theliquefiedpetroleumgas(LPG)andpropyleneyieldobtainedoverthiscatalystincreasedby3.49and1.20percentagepoints,respectively.TheperfectporestructureandsuitableLewisacidamountofnewsilicasolwerethepossiblereasonleadingtoitsoutstandingperformance.
