Themasstransportvelocityinathinlayerofmuddyfluidisstudiedtheoretically.Themudmotionisdrivenbyaperiodicpressureloadonthefreesurface,andthemudisdescribedbyapower-lawmodel.Basedonthekeyassumptionsoftheshallownessandthesmalldeformation,aperturbationanalysisisconducteduptothesecondordertofindthemeanEulerianvelocityinanEuleriancoordinatesystem.Thenumericaliterationmethodisadoptedtosolvethesenon-linearequationsoftheleadingorder.Fromthenumericalresults,boththefirst-orderflowfieldsandthesecond-ordermasstransportvelocitiesareexamined.Theverificationsaremadebycomparingthenumericalresultswithexperimentalresultsintheliterature,andagoodagreementisconfirmed.
