Thedischargeoperationregimeofpulsemodulatedatmosphericradiofrequency(RF)glowdischargeinheliumisinvestigatedonthedutycycleandfrequencyofmodulationpulses.Thecharacteristicsofradiofrequencydischargeburstintermsofbreakdownvoltage,alpha(α)-gamma(γ)modetransitionvoltageandcurrentaredemonstratedbythedischargecurrentvoltagecharacteristics.TheminimumbreakdownvoltageofRFdischargeburstwasobtainedatthedutycycleof20%andfrequencyof400kHz,respectively.Theα-γmodetransitionofRFdischargeburstoccursathighervoltageandcurrentbyreducingthedutycycleandelevatingthemodulationfrequencybeforetheRFdischargeburstevolvingintotheignitionphase,inwhichtheRFdischargeburstcanoperatestablyintheγmode.ItproposesthattheintensityandstabilityofRFdischargeburstcanbeimprovedbymanipulatingthedutycycleandmodulationfrequencyinpulsemodulatedatmosphericRFglowdischarge.
