Multicastcapability,includingmulticastaddressandmulticastroutingmechanisms,atthenetworklayerisnecessaryinordertoreducethebandwidthrequirementsofmultiparty,multicastapplications.Basedonhierarchicalautonomousstructureinaccordancewiththeself-organizationtopologiesofInternet,thepaperputsforwardamulticastaddressmanagementschemethatisshowntoberobustandscalable.Connectioncontrolhierarchy(CCH)basedonmaster/slaverelationshipandasimpleefficientbuildingalgorithmofmulti-pointconnectionisalsobuilt.Thepaperalsodescribesthenormaloperationsofmulticastaddressmanagementandmulti-pointconnectioncontroller.Throughsimulationexperiment,HAMCMandDDMofMulticastAddressAllocationarecompared.HAMintegratesthemeritsofCMandDDM,whichisefficientasawhole,robustandscalable.CCHraisestheefficiencyofconnectioncontrol,andishighlyrobust,flexibleandscalable.
