Remainingusefullife(RUL)estimationisatopicthathasgainedmoreandmoreattentioninthefieldoffluidpowersystems,thankstothetremendouspotentialsshownforimprovingsafetyandreducedproductionlosses.However,manychallengesrelatedtoRULestimationarenotsolvedyet,mainlyconnectedtothedefinitionofthehealthstatusofeachcomponent.Aprognosticmethodbasedonadata-drivenmethodologyforhydraulicsystemsishereproposedtoestimatethepercentageoflifealreadyspentbythemonitoredcomponents.Thepotentialsofthemethodologyareshownconsideringthecaseofatruck-mountedhydrauliccrane,forwhichasimulationmodelwasavailable.
