Theeffectofresinstructureondesalinationofligninsolutionwasinvestigated,theoptimalstructureofresinisasfollows;crosslinkingdegreeas4%,ratioofcationogentoanionogenisnear1.withsuchresinthedesalinationofligninwasproducedverywellbecausetheresinhasbothmoleculesievingandionretardationproperties.Thesulfonationdegressofligninandtotalsaltcontentofligninsolutionweredeterminredwithionexchangetechnique,therelativeerrorlessthan1%.Thesaltcontentofsmallmoleculeintheligninsolutionwascalculatedfromsulfonationdegreeofligninandtotalsalt.Amonggelandmacroporousresinsthebestseparationofligninfromreducingsugarwasachievedwithinterpenetratingsulfonatedresin2×1.5×1.Theseparationofligninwithinterpenetratingresinwascarriedoutsimultaneouslywithfractionationoflignin,theeffectoffractionationwithmacroporoussulfonatedresinisbetterthanthatwithinterpenetratingresin,buttheformerhasadefinitesorptionofligninwhichdecreasedtherecoveryoflignin.
