Westudytheflowofadensity-stratifiedfluidpassingoveranisolatedobstacle,usingtowing-tankexperiments.OurspecialconcernistheresponseoftheflowwithdifferentFroudenumberspassingoverathree-dimensionalobstacle.Aseriesofexperimentsofthestratifiedrotatingflowpassingoveranisolatedobstaclewascarriedoutwiththetowering-tankcontrolledbythesimilaritylawsanddynamicnon-dimensionparameters.TheseexperimentsshowthattheFroudenumberisaveryimportantparameter,andtheleewaveandtheeddystructureexperimentsshowthattheFroudenumberisaveryimportantparameter,andtheleewaveandtheeddystructureappearsimultaneouslyunderanappropriateconditions.Theeffectofrotationontheleewaveismainlytochangewaveamplitude,particularlytorestrainthedevelopmentoftheleewaveandtopromotetheformationofaneddy.
