Theexperimentalstudyofultra-wideband(UWB)technology,itsgenerationandon-linemeasurementarepresented.AnexperimentalrepetitiveUWBsystemisdesigned,manufactured,andtested.High-pressuresparkgapswitchanditscomponents,aswellasoilsparkgapswitcharestudiedexperimentallyonthesystem.Experimentalresultsindicatethatthesystemoperatesata200ppsrepetitiveratewithastableperformance.100MWpeakpowerUWBpulsesareobtainedonthesystem.Fast-timeresponsecapacitivepiderisdesignedandfabricated,allowingforanaccuratemeasurementofthehighpowerUWBsignal.ThemainissuesrelatedtothedesignoftheswitchandtheUWBsignalonlinemeasurementarediscussed.
