Thestatisticaldistributionofwavecrestcharacteristicssuchascrestlength,crestheight,jointcrestheightandlengthareanalyzedbasedonnumericalsimulationof3-Drandomwaves.Theeffectsofdirectionalfunctionsandwavecrestdefiningmethodsoncrestcharacteristicsarealsostudied.Theresultsshowthatwavecrestsarenolongeruniformandcontinuousindirectionalwavefield;thedistributionofcrestlengthisobviouslyinfluencedbythedirectionalfunction;thestatisticsofcrestcharacteristicsobtainedbythetwodifferentmethodsarealmostthesame.
