Withthedevelopmentofhigh-resolutionandmulti-scaleunifiednumericalmodel,someoftechniquesaboutnon-hydrostaticmeso-scalenumericalweatherpredictionareaddressed.Theimpactoftheverticalcoordinatesystemisoneofthem.Inthispaper,basedonaWRF(WeatherResearchandForecast)model,theimpactonthecalculationofverticalvelocitywasstudiedwithdifferentverticalcoordinates.Thesimulationresultsshowedthatthecalculationofverticalvelocityissensitivetoverticalcoordinates.Itisespeciallymoreevidentwhentheresolutionincreased.Duetothecloserelationshipsbetweenverticalvelocityandprecipitation,thedifferenceofverticalvelocityinevitablyinfluencesmodel'sdescriptionofprecipitation.Anidealexperimentexhibitsthatpressuregradientforcecomputationsinthepressureterrain-followingcoordinatearesensitivetosurfacepressure.
