Theconfigurationandaerodynamicperformanceoftheinletsystemareimportantaspectsintheprocessofinstallingagasturbineonanavalvessel.Undertherequirements,largeeddysimulation(LES)isusedtosimulatethethree-dimensionalfluidflowinthewaveblockerofamarineinletfilter.TheSmagorinsky-Lillysub-gridmodelwasusedtomodelmotionsofsmall-scalestructures.Duringnumericalsimulation,theSIMPLEalgorithmwasapplied.Thecentral-differencingspatialdiscretizationschemeandthesecondorderaccuracyfinitedifferenceforthetemporaldiscretizationwereused.Simulationgivessatisfactorydistributionofthevorticityfieldsandturbulentkineticenergy.Comparedwiththek-εturbulentmodel,theresultsofLESarebetterforthedistributionofparameters.Theresultsofexperimentalstudyinasmall-scalewindtunnelindicatethatnumericalcalculationhashigheraccuracy.Therefore,themethodsusedareworthyofreferenceandintroductionforthedesignofaninletsystem.
