ThisisoneoftheapplicationsofPart(Ⅰ),inwhichtheangularstiffness,andthecorrespondingstressdistributionsofU-shapedbellowswerediscussed.Thebellowswaspidedintoprotrudingsections,concavesectionsandringplatesforthecalculationthatthegeneralsolution(Ⅰ)withitsreducedformtoringplateswereusedrespectively,butthecontinuityofthesurfacestressesandthemeridianrotationsateachjointofthesectionswereentirelysatisfied.Thepresentresultswerecomparedwiththoseoftheslenderringshellsolutionproposedearlierbytheauthors,thestandardsoftheExpansionJointManufacturersAssociation(EJMA),theexperimentandthefiniteelementmethod.Itisshownthatthegoverningequationandthegeneralsolution(Ⅰ)areveryeffective.
