Theatmosphericintraseasonaloscillation(ISO)anditsinterannualvariabilityaresimulatedbytheatmosphericgeneralcirculationmodel,whichwasdevelopedattheInstituteofAtmosphericPhysics.Twonumericalexperimentswereperformed,correspondingtotheAMIP-IandAMIP-IIsimulations,respectively.Themodelreasonablyreproducesthemajoraspectsoftheintraseasonaloscillation,includingthepropagatingpropertyandtheseasonaldifferencesinthetropics,thewavenumberstructureofISOintheglobe,andtheglobalcoincidenceintheinterannualvariationofISO.Comparisonoftheresultsbetweenthetwoexperimentssuggeststhatimprovementoftheboundaryforcingorconsideringtheair-seainteractionmayhelptoimprovethesimulationontheISOanditsinterannualvariability.
