Inthispaperweproposeamethodtomodelflowersofsolidshape.Basedon(Ijirietal.,2005)’smethod,weseparateinpidualflowermodelingandinflorescencemodelingproceduresintostructureandgeometrymodeling.Weincorporateinteractiveeditinggesturestoallowtheusertoeditstructureparametersfreelyontostructurediagram.Furthermore,weusefree-handsketchingtechniquestoallowuserstocreateandedit3Dgeometricalelementsfreelyandeasily.Thefinalstepistoautomaticallymergeallindependent3Dgeometricalelementsintoasinglewaterproofmesh.Ourexperimentsshowthatthissolidmodelingapproachispromising.Usingourapproach,noviceuserscancreatevividflowermodelseasilyandfreely.Thegeneratedflowermodeliswaterproof.Itcanhaveapplicationsinvisualization,animation,gaming,andtoysanddecorationsifprintedouton3Drapidprototypingdevices.
