AheavystormrainfallcausedbyTyphoonAere(No.0418)whenlandingatFujianhasbeensuccessfullysimulatedbyusingAREMmodel.Thesimulationresultisscale-separatedbyspatialband-passfiltering,whichrevealsthemesoscalelowpressureandconvergencelinethathasdirectimpactonthisrainfallprocess.Thephysicalcharacteristicsofthetwomesoscalesystemsandtheirrelationwithrainfallarealsoanalyzed.Studyshowsthatthereexistsawellcorrespondingrelationshipbetweenthestormrainfallandmesoscalepergenceandstrongupdraftarisingfromtheconvergence,whichiscausedbytheinteractionsbetweenthemesoscalesystemsandtopographicfeatures,andisdirectlyresponsiblefortherainfall.
