TheDNAcontentandmorphometricfeaturesofhepatocellularcarcinoma(HCC)andlivercelldysplasia(LCD),includingnucleararea,nuclearperimeter,nuclearmaximumdiameterandnuclearcirclediameter,werequantitativelydeterminedbymeansofimageanalysistechnology.Theresultsshowedthatincomparisonwithnormalhepatocytes,LCDhadamarkedlyincreasedDNAcontentandnuclearmorphometricparameters,butthevalueswerelowerthanthoseforHCC.LCDshowedaslightincreaseinnuclearatypiarepresentedbythenuclearirregularindex,whichwasalsolessthanHCC.ThefindingsindicatethatLCDmaybeaprecaneerouslesionofHCC,tothecellsinanabnormalproliferativestate.
