Inthispaper,first,weemployclassicLiesymmetrygroupsapproachtoobtaintheLiesymmetrygroupsofthewell-known(2+1)-dimensionalGeneralizedSasa-Satsuma(GSS)equation.Second,basedonamodifieddirectmethodproposedbyLou[J.Phys.A:Math.Gen.38(2005)L129],moregeneralsymmetrygroupsareobtainedandtherelationshipbetweenthenewsolutionandknownsolutionissetup.Atthesametime,theLiesymmetrygroupsobtainedareonlyspecialcasesofthemoregeneralsymmetrygroups.Atlast,someexactsolutionsofGSSequationsareconstructedbytherelationshipobtainedinthepaperbetweenthenewsolutionandknownsolution.
