Basedonthefloodaffectedarea(FA)dataoftheprovincesinChinafrom1950to2005,thearticlediscussesthechangeofthefloodpatternsinChina,andinvestigatesitsrelationshipwithclimatechangeandhumanactivities.ThefloodcentershiftedfromNorthChinaandtheYangtze-Huaihebasininthe1950stowardsthesouth,northandwestofChina,andlocatedinthesouthoftheYangtzeRiverandSouthChinaafterthe1990s.TheFAinthewesternprovinceswascontinuouslyontherisesincethe1950s.TherearetwocharacteristicsforthefuturefloodpatterninChina.Thepatternof'floodinthesouthanddroughtinthenorth'dependsonthenorth-southshiftofthemaximumrainfallregionineasternChina.ThefloodintensificationtothewestofHuHuanyong'slinemainlyresultsfromtheincreaseofrainfall,extremeprecipitationandthemeltingofglaciersunderthebackgroundofhumanactivitymagnification.
