  • 简介:Chinaisacountryofhighseismicitywithmanyhydropowerresources.Recently,aseriesofhigharchdamshaveeitherbeencompletedorarebeingconstructedinseismicregions,ofwhichmostareconcretedams.Theevaluationofseismicsafetyoftenbecomesacriticalproblemindamdesign.Inthispaper,abriefintroductiontomajorprogressintheresearchonseismicaspectsoflargeconcretedams,conductedmainlyattheInstituteofWaterResourcesandHydropowerResearch(IWHR)duringthepast60years,ispresented.Thedamsite-specificgroundmotioninput,improvedresponseanalysis,dynamicmodeltestverification,fieldexperimentinvestigations,dynamicbehaviorofdamconcrete,andseismicmonitoringandobservationaredescribed.Methodstopreventcollapseofhighconcretedamsundermaximumcredibleearthquakesarediscussed.

  • 简介:Themechanismsofseismically-inducedliquefactionofgranularsoilsunderhighconfiningstressesarestillnotfullyunderstood.Evaluationofthesemechanismsisgenerallybasedonextrapolationofobservedbehavioratshallowdepths.ThreecentrifugemodeltestswereconductedatRPI'sexperimentalfacilitytoinvestigatetheeffectsofconfiningstressesonthedynamicresponseoradeephorizontaldepositofsaturatedsand.Liquefactionwasobservedathighconfiningstressesineachofthetests.Asystemidentificationprocedurewasusedtoestimatetheassociatedshearstrainandstresstimehistories.Thesehistoriesrevealedaresponsemarkedbyshearstrengthdegradationanddilativepatterns.Therecordedaccelerationsandporepressureswereemployedtogeneratevisualanimationsofthemodels.Thesevisualizationsrevealedaliquefactionfronttravelingdownwardandleadingtolargeshearstrainsandisolationofuppersoillayers.

  • 简介:Inthisresearch,thevibrationofelevatorropes,includingthemainropeandcompensationropeareinvestigatedsimultaneouslyinahigh-riseelevatorsystemunderearthquakeexcitation.Moreover,thepaperpresentsanewcontrolmethodtorestraintheswayofbothropes.Thisstudyconsidersvaryingropelengthsduringelevatoroperationwhichcauseothersystemparameterssuchasnaturalfrequency,anddampingratiotobetime-variantvariables.Thedynamicsoftheropesareanalyzedbysolvingthegoverningnon-stationary,nonlinearequationnumerically.Inordertomitigatethevibrationofropesinseveralmotionconditions,particularlyupwardsmovement,downwardmovement,stoppedatthelowestposition,andstoppedatthehighestposition,anactiveequipmentisinstalledatthecompensationsheave.Thestabilityofthesystemusingthecontrollerisanalyzedatfourstates:withoutdisturbanceandstaticcar,withoutdisturbanceandmobilecar,includingdisturbanceandstaticcar,andincludingdisturbanceandmobilecar.Theefficiencyofthecontrollerusedfordampeningthevibrationofelevatorropesisvalidatedbynumericalsimulationresults.

  • 简介:Inthispaper,weadopttheobservationdataoftwo10HzYRY4-componentboreholestrainmetersandone100HzFBS-3BbroadbandseismometertostudytheresponsesoftheirobservationstotheApril11,2012MW8.6earthquakeoffthewestcoastofnorthernSumatra,andcomparetheresponsecharacteristicsduringthecoseismicstageafterpreprocessingofthedata.Weanalyzethespectrum’sdynamicprocessduringthecoseismicstagewiththeStransformationmethod,anddiscussthespectrum’sdetailsindifferentseismicphases.TheStransformationresultsofthedataofseismometerandboreholestrainmeteratthesamestationshowthatthecoseismicspectrumevolutionofthetwokindsofobservationaresimilartoeachotherandcanbecross-referencedinindentifyingthewavesignals,whichprovesthattheboreholestrainmetermeasurementsathighfrequenciesarereliable.

  • 简介:Adynamicmodeltest(CL=4)atdifferentvelocitiesoftrain,namelydifferentloadingfrequencies,iscarriedouttostudythedynamiccharacteristicsofahigh-speedrailwaytunnelinvertanditsfoundationsoils.Notonlyaretheaccelerations,dynamiccoefficients,dynamicstressesoftheinvertandfoundationsoilsemphaticallyanalyzed,theirrelationshipwiththevelocityofthetrainarediscussedindetail.Throughlaboratorytesting,theattenuationofvibrationpropagatingfromuptherailsisobtainedandthecalculationformulaofthespeedinfluencecoefficientofthetunnelinvertispreliminarilyestablished.Thedepthofthefoundationsoilsinfluencedbyvibrationisalsodeterminedinthisstudy.Itisshownthattheresponsesofthetunnelinvertandfoundationsoilstovibrationareslightlyincreasedwiththevelocityofthetrain;circumferentialstressesinthebottomoftheinvertaretensilestressesandmaximumstressesappearunderthefootoftherails;thedynamicsoilpressuresofthefoundationdecreasequicklywiththedistanceawayfromthetunnelinvertandanexponentialrelationshipexistsbetweenthem.

  • 简介:Thesignificanceofdetectionofurbanactivefaultsandthegeneralsituationconcerningdetectionofurbanactivefaultsintheworldarebrieflyintroduced.Inabriefdescriptionofthebasicprinciplesofanti-disturbanceandhigh-resolutionshallowseismicexploration,thestressisputontheexcitationofseismicsources,theperformanceofdigitalseismographs,receivingmodeandconditions,geometryaswellasdataacquisition,processingandinterpretationintheanti-disturbanceandhigh-resolutionshallowseismicexplorationofurbanactivefaults.Thestudyindicatesthatacontrolledseismicsourcewithalinearornonlinearfrequency-conversionscanningfunctionandtherelevantseismographsmustbeusedindataacquisition,aswellasworkingmethodsforsmallgroupinterval,smalloffset,multi-channelreceiving,short-arrayandhigh-frequencydetectorsforreceivingareused.Attentionshouldbepaidtotheapplicationoftechniquesforstaticcorrectionofrefraction,noisesuppressing,high-precisionanalysisofvelocity,waveletcompressing,zero-phasingofwaveletandpre-stackingmigrationtodataprocessingandinterpretation.Finally,somecasesofanti-disturbanceandhigh-resolutionshallowseismicexplorationofurbanactivefaultsarepresentinthepaper.

  • 简介:High-velocityfrictionexperimentswereconductedonclayeyfaultgougecollectedfromHongkououtcropofBeichuanfault,locatedatthesouthwesternpartofLongmenshanfaultsystemthatcausedthedisastrous2008Wenchuanearthquake.Theultimatepurposeofthisstudyistoreproducethisearthquakebymodelingbasedonmeasuredfrictionalproperties.Drygougeofabout1mminthicknesswasdeformeddryatslipratesof0.01to1.3m/sandatnormalstressesof0.61to3.04MPa,usingarotary-shearhigh-velocityfrictionaltestingmachine.Thegougedisplaysslipweakeningbehaviorasinitialpeakfrictiondecaystowardssteady-statevaluesafteragivendisplacement.Bothpeakfrictionandsteady-statefrictionremainhighatslowslipratesareexaminedandgougeonlyexhibitsdramaticweakeningathighsliprates,withsteady-statefrictioncoefficientvaluesofabout0.1to0.2.Specificfractureenergyrangesfrom1to4MN/minourresultsandthisisofthesameorderasseismicallydeterminedvalues.LowfrictioncoefficientsmeasuredonexperimentalfaultsareinbroadagreementwithlackofthermalanomalyobservedfromtemperaturemeasurementsinWFSD-1drillhole(WenchuanEarthquakeFaultScientificDrillingProject),whichcanbeexplainedbyevensmallerfrictioncoefficientfortheWenchuanearthquakefault.High-velocityfrictionexperimentswithporewaterneedstobedonetoseeifevensmallerfrictionisattainedornot.Shinyslickensidesurfacesformathighsliprates,butnotatslowsliprates.Slipzonewithslickensidesurfacechangesitscolortodarkbrownandformsduplex-likemicrostructures,whicharesimilartothosemicrostructuresfoundinthefaultgougesfromtheHongkououtcrop.DetailedcomparisonsbetweenexperimentallydeformedgougesamplesandWFSDdrillcoresinthefuturewillrevealhowmuchwecouldreproducethedynamicweakeningprocessesinoperationinfaultzonesduringWenchuanearthquakeatpresent.
