Weidentifythattheprojecteduncertaintyofthepan-Arcticsea-iceconcentration(SIC)isstronglycoupledwiththeEurasiancirculationintheborealwinter(December-March;DJFM),basedonasingularvaluedecomposition(SVD)analysisoftheforcedresponseof11CMIP5models.Inthemodelsshowingastrongersea-icedecline,thePolarcellbecomesweakerandthereisananomalousincreaseinthesealevelpressure(SLP)along60°N,includingtheUrals-SiberiaregionandtheIcelandlowregion.ThereisanaccompanyingweakeningofboththemidlatitudewesterlywindsandtheFerrellcell,wheretheSVDsignalsarealsorelatedtoanomalousseasurfacetemperaturewarminginthemidlatitudeNorthAtlantic.IntheMediterraneanregion,theanomalouscirculationresponseshowsadecreasingSLPandincreasingprecipitation.TheanomalousSLPresponsesovertheEuro-AtlanticregionprojectontothenegativeNorthAtlanticOscillation-likepattern.Altogether,pan-ArcticSICdeclinecouldstronglyimpactthewinterEurasianclimate,butweshouldbecautiousaboutthecausalityoftheirlinkage.
