Amongtheavailableclusteringalgorithmsindatamining,theCLOPEalgorithmattractsmuchmoreattentionwithitshighspeedandgoodperformance.However,theproperchoiceofsomeparametersintheCLOPEalgorithmdirectlyaffectsthevalidityoftheclusteringresults,whichisstillanopenissue.Forthispurpose,thispaperproposesafuzzyCLOPEalgorithm,andpresentsamethodfortheoptimalparameterchoicebydefiningamodifiedpartitionfuzzydegreeasaclusteringvalidityfunction.TheexperimentalresultswithrealdatasetillustratetheeffectivenessoftheproposedfuzzyCLOPEalgorithmandoptimalparameterchoicemethodbasedonthemodifiedpartitionfuzzydegree.
