简介:Recentadvancesinoptogeneticshaveestablishedapreciselytimedandcell-specificmethodologyforunderstandingthefunctionsofbraincircuitsandthemechanismsunderlyingneuropsychiatricdisor-ders.However,thefabricationofoptrodes,akeyfunctionalelementinoptogenetics,remainsagreatchallenge.Here,wereportreliableandefficientfabricationstrategiesforchronicallyimplantableoptrodearrays.Toimprovetheperformanceofthefabricatedoptrodearrays,surfacesoftherecordingsitesweremodifiedusingoptimizedelectrochemicalprocesses.Wehavealsodemon-stratedthefeasibilityofusingthefabricatedoptrodearraystodetectseizuresinmultiplebrainregionsandinhibitictalpropagationinvivo.Furthermore,theresultsofthehistologystudyimplythattheelectrodepositionofcompositeconductingpolymersnotablyalleviatedtheinflammatoryresponseandimprovedneuronalsurvivalattheimplant/neural-tissueinterface.Insummary,weprovidereliableandefficientstrategiesforthefabricationandmodificationofcustomizedoptrodearraysthatcanfulfilltherequirementsofinvivooptogeneticapplications.
